Matching Shirts

The year? 1979.The place? Colfax, Washington.
The principal characters? Jonathan, age 5. His whiny little sister (me!) age 2 1/2.
The occasion? I have no idea. But look at those matching shirts!

I love that there’s one pair of shoes between you, and that you are each holding one half of the pair.

Matching, nice!! I used to like and wear in that period those t-shirts that had Superman and Disney characters on, they were better than the cartoon type ones now

Very stylish. My mom dressed my brother and me in
matching clothes often. It was the thing to do in the 70’s.

Those were great t-shirts! I think we still had them when we moved to Everson.

Those shirts actually had personal significance. “EVS” stood for the Eli Victor Show, a musical/comedy group made up of Katy’s cousins. They named their group for their father, Eli Victor Dragoo.

Mom - I knew those shirts had some kind of significance but I couldn’t remember what it was. I’m glad that you enlightened me.
And welcome to the RollerBlog!
Yay! My mom reads my blog

This summer I spent three weeks at an art camp. Evech art discipline (writing, visual art, dance, etc) had their own color-coded shirt. There’s just something really amazing about matching shirts.

That’s my Dad’s band! And I think he still has some of those shirts.
I know I used to wear them when I was a kid.
FYI, a great synopsis of the band can be found half-way down my uncle’s website. (http://jimdraggoo.com/musician.html) And I have a video of them somewhere…

Tom, Roy and Jim Draggoo toured as The Eli Victor Show from 1974 through 1979. We made great friends, and sold lots of EVS tee shirts! The three of us try to get together every October to sing and play, and by now we have trouble remembering the words, chords and harmonies — but we still have fun! And yes, I did find a box of assorted EVS tee shirts in storage.
