Vinyl Friday: Spaced Out Disco

I just found a new record to add to our collection. Spaced Out Disco, released in 1978 by The Galactic Force Band, includes danceable versions of movie themes from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Star Trek, 2001, and Star Wars.
I seriously need to own this. Too bad my birthday is 11 months away….
Here is the Theme From Star Trek from the B side of the record:

Oh my gosh, that is AWESOME! I would want that just for the album cover alone.
You know, that cover reminds me of an old K-Tel record I own, same two dancing robots in space, but they look more like dot-to-dot constellations. I really miss the 70s and 80s. Here’s a picture on amazon.com, I am not the seller.

Wow. I actually remember this one from when I was a kid.
Yes, some kid brought that thing to school on “music day” when we could bring our own records. I was always bring the Beatles or KISS albums in, yet a lot of kids wound up dragging blasted disco to school.
Good times…

Damn.
I have the danceable Close Encounters theme on the soundtrack cassette as a “bonus” track. Who doesn’t want to dance to the themes of popular scifi movies?

I thought disco WAS spaced out.
No?
