Stuck in my Head
Ever get a seventies song stuck in your head that just won’t go away? It happens to me quite frequently - one of the hazards of writing a seventies blog, I suppose.
Some seventies songs I don’t mind running through my head on an endless loop. I went through a whole week where I could not stop singing Slade’s Cum on Feel the Noize. That was actually kind of fun - it was a very rocking week.
This week is different. I have Minnie Riperton’s classic “Loving You” going through my head. You know the one, with fake bird sounds in the background: “Looooooving yoooooou, is easy cause your beautiful… Making love with yoooooou, is all I wanna do…. la la la la la…. [high pitched shrieking here]“.
I guess it’s ok as far as love songs go, but as I have mentioned previously I really am not a fan of love songs. And there is nothing more annoying then having this song going through your head all day long.

Whoa. I used to love that song!
Seriously though, what the heck is in her hair?!?
That’s a -5 on the 70’s groovy scale.

Wasn’t “Cum on Feel the Noize” (I feel dirty just typing that out) by Quiet Riot?

Form time to time “Seasons in the Sun” gets stuck in my head. I loved that song when I was a little kid.
Sometime later on, I actually learned the lyrics and what it was about.
It’s a great, depressingly 70s song, though.

Laura - she does have pretty memorable hair, huh! Very seventies
Barry - Cum on Feel the Noize is actually originally by the band Slade in the early seventies - Quiet Riot did it as a cover. You can see a great video of the Slade version here.
Cromely- Seasons in the Sun is a great idea! I’ll add it to the list

I agreed with you until you got the the shrieking part, as I love Slade. But that song makes me want to scream myself every time, urgh!

ARGH! I just got that song out of my head! And I didn’t even have to watch the video! The worst part is when I sing it all over the house. My sister gets it in her head to. We love doing the high pitch part..hee.. but GEE!!! ARGH! ARGH!

My dog used to howl whenever we sang that song. It was the funniest thing. She’d just go insane whenever she heard it &, of course, we used to sing it frequently.
