LOL! Actually I was referring to you, Mr. RollerBlog, as being a closeted mime. That sentence was a little unclear - I've remedied it.

@ nat - I think mimes and clowns creep most people out. Me included. Which is why I decided to do a blog on mimes, you know, to work through my mime issues. I think its worked!

@ gina - Shields and Yarnell = funny stuff!

Shields and Yarnell...now there are some names that haven't entered my consciousness for a while! ...And I thought I was in touch with my seventies sensibilities!

Funny, funny stuff, that!

Where has all the great entertainment gone...?

@ Cromely - you did not just imagine that - both Mummenshanz and Shields and Yarnell appeared on the Muppet Show. You can check it out on YouTube.

@ Turnip - well it sounds like the Avenging Unicorn is for you!

Ugh, I hate mimes. Only movie with a mime I ever enjoyed was Mel Brookes "Silent Movie". That's not entirely true. I laugh hysterically anytime someone in a movie punches a mime.

I remember the commercials for Mummenschanz. They were all over NYC after school TV. At the time I recall thinking the pad of papers eyes bit was brilliant. I got a big kick out of there appearance on the Muppets (or did I just imagine that?)

I guess we have Mummenschanz and the mime movement of 70s to thank for today's Blue Man Group.
