As a teenager I decided to make a mental note of all the things I hoped to do before I die. At the time R.E.M. was my all-time favorite band, and so naturally seeing R.E.M. in concert was on the top ten list. Also on the short list included seeing the Eiffel Tower, and going to a They Might Be Giants concert.
I don’t remember the rest of the list any more (since I never bothered to write it down) but since then I have managed to go to Paris twice and make it to a They Might Be Giants live show. But the R.E.M. concert is still eluding me. Maybe someday I’ll actually make it to a concert. But until then I satisfy my R.E.M. fixation with music videos.
